4-Arm-Delta-Robot

  • Project Description: Vision-Based Object Sorting with a 4-Arm Delta Robot

This ongoing project, developed as part of a semester project for the Master’s program in Mechatronics, focuses on the integration of computer vision and robotics for automated object sorting. The system utilizes a 4-arm Delta robot and a Raspberry Pi platform for seamless coordination and execution.

Key features of the project include:
    • Object Detection: Using a Raspberry Pi camera module to detect objects placed on the platform (plateau) through computer vision algorithms.
    • Robotic Control: Leveraging the GPIO pins of the Raspberry Pi to control the movements of the 4-arm Delta robot for precise object sorting.
    • Platform Integration: Designing a robust mechanical platform for object placement and sorting.
    • Automation: Implementing real-time object detection, classification, and sorting workflows.

This project demonstrates advanced interdisciplinary skills, combining mechanical design, computer vision, and robotic control to create an efficient and autonomous sorting system. The work is still in progress, with the aim of achieving a fully operational prototype capable of real-time sorting tasks.
